The first section ask you to not just identify a stress but also explain how it negatively impacts homeostasis.

Vasoconstriction actually works to limit loss of heat through the skin's surface.
Developmental is a genetic trait that evolved over many generations. "Fire" doesn't qualify, though that could be a cultural trait, correct? An example of a developmental trait is a short, squat body shape. This is explained in the resources in the assignment module in Canvas.

How would this work? Most of these traits are biological/physiological/genetic and we have no control over them. None whatsoever. So how can this help us "adapt" to other climates, other than cultural adaptations? Is there a way we can use this information in some concrete, technological way? Can knowledge on adaptations to cold climates have medical implications? Help us develop clothing that retains heat more efficiently? Can we develop new means of home/building construction that might help increase heat retention? How can we actually use this information in an applied fashion?

A couple of points here: First, skin color is a response to solar radiation stress (along with Vitamin D absorption), not to temperature stresses of cold or hot.
Second, is that actually using race, or are you just using the adaptive response and layering race over top of it? Can you really use race to explain human variation? Understand that it is perfectly acceptable to answer this question with a "no".
To answer this question, you first need to explore what race actually is. Race is not based in biology but is a social construct, based in beliefs and preconceptions, and used only to categorize humans into groups based upon external physical features, much like organizing a box of crayons by color. Race does not *cause* adaptations like environmental stress do, and without that causal relationship, you can't use race to explain adaptations. Race has no explanatory value over human variation.
I do appreciate that you note that using environmental stresses helps us understand *why* we adapt as we do. That is part of the issue of the using a causal factor.
